How many times have you dreamt of the scenario where you save an after-party with music from your phone? Top that off with chance of playing your own production and getting recognition from the crowd. Proper dream stuff, eh? Well, Hot Since 82’s return to the House music scene was quite similar when he plugged in his iPhone to rescue an afterparty in Ibiza and the response from the crowd to his production, which he never intended to release, convinced him to release it as ‘Let It Ride’ on Noir Recordings in 2011.

Daley Padley, known by his stage name Hot Since 82, stopped producing music in 2007 due to a conflict between the kind of music he was requested to play and the one he liked. But as they say, ‘If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, its yours forever‘. Since the release after the incident in Ibiza, there has been no looking back for him. Multiple remixes and releases have constantly made sure that whenever House and Deep House are discussed, Hot Since 82 is the name on everyone’s lips.

His 2013 remix of Curtis Jones A.K.A  Green Velvet’s ‘Bigger Than Prince’, which was a beatport topper when released, was recently added to the triple CD compilation by Ministry of Sound with various other artists. The compilation can be viewed here. Following that, Hot Since 82 released a remix of the UK Garage duo Argy & Mama’s ‘Recluse’ in February 2015.

And now he is back with a “cheeky FREE download for the summer sun”! And its worth putting on repeat for the entire summer. Sampling the ever so famous vocals from the single “Voices Inside My Head” from the 1980 Police album ‘Zenyatta Mondatta‘, the track is the perfect potpourri of the minimalist pop vocals from Sting and the signature groovy house beats from Hot Since 82. The instrumental would alone have been a perfect summer vibe with its long haunting sounds and claps which take you directly to the beach but the sampled vocals add another dimensions to the song, one which makes you appreciate the sun setting on the horizon. The Police hit has been ‘Hot since 80’ but this track is a must have on your summer playlist!
