Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Zedd, and Jack Ü Nominated for AMA’s

Over the past few years, popular music awards shows have recognized electronic dance music as a category legible for songs, albums and artists awards in itself. During these years, dance music has also slowly fused with mainstream media, especially on the radio. Songs from some of the top artists from the EDM scene are now heard on many local radio stations and this proves how big the genre has grown. The American Music Awards recently revealed the nominated artists for “Favorite Artist – Electronic Dance Music”, including three of the biggest superstars of dance music.

Platinum recording artists Calvin Harris, David Guetta, and Zedd are all nominees. We’re all curious and excited to see who will come out victorious amongst these three giants. After winning the award last year, Calvin Harris looks to repeat and add on to his already impressive track record. With chart-topping hits such as “How Deep is Your Love” featuring Disciples, it wouldnt come as a surprise if Harris were to claim the throne again.

David Guetta also had an impressive year with his top singles such as “Hey Mama” and incredible live sets during some of the biggest festivals such as Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland. Lastly, Zedd made another long stride toward stardom with the release of his album ‘True Colors’, which topped the U.S. Dance peak charts. Included singles such as “I Want You to Know” and “Beautiful Now” were also placed high on many music charts. Since these accolades and accomplishments of each artist are fairly uniform, it is difficult to pick one over the other.

Skrillex andDiplos ‘Where Are Ü Now’, which went #1 on the U.K. Dance chart and Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs chart,was also nominated for “Collaboration of the Year”. Some other nominations include Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth, Rihanna and Kanye West’s “FourFive Seconds” featuring Paul McCartney, Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk!” featuring Bruno Mars, and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” featuring Kendrick Lamar.

The 2015 American Music Awards will take place on November 22^nd and will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez.
