Arno Cost is no stranger to producing big hits. From “Strong” with Norman Doray on Size Records to “At Night” alongside Arias, to then sculpting “Coming Home” just over 3 months ago, he has always secured himself a larger than life presence in the EDM industry. It’s hard to deny the 29-year-old’s consistent reputation for quality electronic dance music. Today, We Rave You is lucky enough to bring you an exclusive original solo piece by the Frenchman, and we have to say it’s something rather special.

Overlaid with the harmonic vocals of Chris Holsten, the 5 minute track is a rare example of where a prolonged build up actually adds to the overall atmosphere and effect. Using the strong kick-drum from the outset, Arno Cost develops the electro depth vibrantly, using vocal loops and building tempo to flesh out the layers with a series of drums. “Waiting For You” brings with it a grittier progressive edge compared to some of Arnos more recent material. With a more melodic second half, the frenchman gives the track a dynamic vibe, one in which you find something new with each listen. Rising piano chords develop underneath Holsten’s vocals, fadeing smoothly into the high-octane progression and charging deep sounds.

Using tempo effectively, as Arno Cost does, as a tool to control the mood of a track takes a great deal of skill. If used ineffectively, the track risks coming off as cheap, and commercially over crafted. So it’s easy to see why “Waiting For You” has been included in Protocol Recordings Amsterdam Dance Event compilation. With over 2,200 artists playing in over 120 clubs across the city, Amsterdam transforms to an EDM Mecca. This explains why this years compilation, curated by Volt & State, is full of elite talent. Accumulating over 16,000 plays on Soundcloud in under 2 hours since its upload, ADE 2015 is set to be infused with Protocol Recordings talent. Featuring the likes of Thomas Gold, Deniz Koyu, Wildstylez and Nicky Romero himself, Arno Cost certainly gives the rest a major run for their money for the best track on the tracklist.

Arno Cost’s “Waiting For You” will be available, alongside the compilation release, on October 5th on all digital formats.
