New-York based duo, The Chainsmokers, have recently announced an upcoming tour in 2016. However, this is not just an ordinary trip as these two DJ’s are taking their talents to six different colleges or universities across the United States. In order to determine which ones are worthy of visiting, The Chainsmokers used a crowd-funding platform called Tilt in which they held a quick competition between all major colleges in the country.

Through Tilt, the first six schools to pre-sell 800 tickets on the site will be chosen for the aforementioned tour. Numerous colleges even used social media, by creating Facebook events or posting on Twitter for instance, to spread the word about possibly winning a show with The Chainsmokers.

The first winner to reach the mark was the University of Connecticut having a total of 848 tickets sold during the pre-sale period. The Chainsmokers will have to spend half of their tour in the Golden State as three consecutive colleges in California followed UCONN upon reaching the goal. The University of California in Santa Barbara and in Davis won second and third respectively and the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo followed. The home of the Fighting Irish, the University of Notre Dame, will also be a part of the tour along with the final winner, the University of Texas.

Having the ability to unite and bring The Chainsmokers to their college, students will also have the power to select a date for the show at their school. Therefore, expect this crowd-funded tour to begin by early 2016 once the duo finishes their ongoing tour and the fans from these six schools are now anxiously waiting to have these two rising stars visit their campus grounds.
