Hardwell and Nicky Romero battle over ‘copy’ rights
We have yet another DJ feud to report to you, this time it’s between Dutch stars: Nicky Romero and Hardwell. Remember Romero’s DJ Mag campaign? An 8-bit video game starring the man himself running through obstacles to make it to his show, accompanied by a looped sound from his classic, ‘Toulouse’. Now that you’ve got the background, let’s get down to what happened between the label bosses.
Well, Hardwell seemed to like Romero’s idea and recently tweeted out a picture of his 8-bit persona displayed at one of his shows.

The Protocol boss was quick to respond; needless to say he wasn’t too impressed… or was he?
Copying is the highest form of flattery

Hardwell wasn’t having any of it, he straight up shot Romero down with support from his 2.45 million Twitter followers.
@nickyromero @UtdSchweini Except my 8bit version is from my Ziggodome show in January (see youtube), and yours from July. #fact
— Hardwell (@HARDWELL) November 5, 2015
For a moment we thought Hardwell had emerged as champion, showing a lot of confidence with his “#fact”. However, Nicky smashed the ball straight back into Hardwell’s court with hard evidence supporting his argument.
@HARDWELL @UtdSchweini we finished the game in January also, it's just we did a whole 8bit campaign. It's on you 🙂 pic.twitter.com/ifZVpcCiy4

Hardwell, it’s on you.
