Steve Angello Speaks Out about EDM Influence and his Upcoming Album

Home Uncategorized Steve Angello Speaks Out about EDM Influence and his Upcoming Album

Prior to playing in front of a wild crowd in New Orleans during last week’s Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, Steve Angello stopped by for an interview with Fuse and spoke about his new album ‘Wild Youth’ as well as his general thoughts about dance music. During the interview, the former member of Swedish House Mafia stated that he produces music not necessarily to top the charts, but rather to be creative and express his passion for dance music.

During the interview he said:

“Making this album has just been about forgetting everything and being like, ‘You know what? I’m going to write something that means something, and it’s going to have a story and if it won’t chart, it won’t chart.’ But that’s not the purpose of it either. For me, it’s about being innovative, coming up with solutions and cool ideas, and being creative.”

Going strong after two decades of producing, the 32 year old intends to expand his message about his new album. He also opened up about dance music and his intentions of being a true artist who is not always glued behind the DJ booth.

“First and foremost, it’s about music. Dance music means so much more than that short hype that it’s had in the recent years. I’ve done this almost 20 years now so, for me, it’s about expressing musically and being something I’ve wanted to be my whole life. I want to be an artist, I don’t want to be put in a folder of ‘Hey, you’re this DJ guy. Stick to that.'”

Considering that he has been in the business for many years now, his amazing music from the past, till present, definitely speaks for itself. His creativity and innovative musical mind clearly define him as an artist and this should translate to his upcoming album that many fans are now looking forward to hear.

‘Wild Youth’ will be available on January 22nd and can be pre-ordered on iTunes.
