Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and W&W are two of the industry’s biggest and most prolific duo’s. Icon’s and leaders in the big-room sub-genre, modern day festival’s would likely be different without them. So when they combine for a track, you can expect a certain outcome, especially given their history together with. One where rave meets volume, and drop’s meet melodic development’s.

Having been relatively quiet at the start of 2016, the Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are building up to a massive summer season of festivals, clubs and general ‘Madness’. W&W have also been out of the headlines more than usual, implying big things are in the works for the remainder of the year.

With over 70,000 plays on SoundCloud in just over a day, the mass appeal of the two dominant DJ/Producer duo’s is staggering. “Arcade” see’s DVLM return to their festival frenzy styling after the international success of their collaboration with Ne-Yo for “Higher Place”. Fusing that with W&W’s trance roots, see’s a track that proves the big-room, electro-house genre is still alive and kicking.

Opening with a building chordal sequence we’ve seen in a number of their set’s, the rising tempo and flurry of synth mutates the melodic sequence into a growing beast. Layered with claps and vocal ‘hype’, the dominant build up gives way to a charging drop. Progressing to the peak-time rave atmosphere with the drop of a throbbing bass, it’s hard to deny that one’s excitement for the upcoming festival season isn’t raised by a significant amount.

Coming off the back of their 6 IDMA nominations, the return of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike alongside W&W is refreshing. Comfortably two of the biggest names in the electronic dance music genre, their return to the headlines and releases is one that will have many more than content.

“Arcade is set to be released on Feburary 29th. Check out the preview below!
