It turns out that Above & Beyond’s iconic Group Therapy 150 set from Sydney, Australia would be host to an incredible amount of new, stellar music. Earlier this year, we reviewed Grum’s incredible hit ‘Under Your Skin,‘ which the trio unveiled at the show, and now we are being treated to another debutant, ‘A.I.‘
Above & Beyond has a unique way of conveying emotion through their records, even when there are no vocals involved. A recent, prime example is ‘Hello‘ off of the ‘We Are All You Need’ album; it is a track that shook you when you heard it for the first time. ‘A.I.’ continue to builds on those successes and creates a wonderful blend of some hard hitting bass lines that open the track, with some beautifully striking tones for an incredible build-up. What really draws you into the track are the subtle high notes that you hear throughout the record, telling a story as it continues on. ‘A.I.’ combines high energy with impeccable musicianship.
The trio of Above & Beyond has been on an absolute tear over the past year: wrapping up their “We Are All You Need” album tour, selling out Wembley’s SSE Arena for an incredible benefit show, and also re-launching their Above & Beyond: Acoustic shows. ‘A.I.’ continues to build on the great successes that the group has had and has us eager for what else is going to come in 2016.
