Home Uncategorized Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike make bold statement with vinyl only set at Tomorrowland

Having been constantly criticised and hated upon by legions of dance music fans for a number of reasons, from allegedly playing pre-recorded sets to their DJ Mag Top 100 fiasco, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike (DVLM) appear to be trying to make a statement to their haters by announcing that they’ll be playing a full vinyl only set at Tomorrowland this year to close out the festival on Sunday 24th July.

This comes following the pairs recent 15 mini-mix using vinyl at a recent “Bringing the Madness 3.0” show in Belgium and it looks as though the duo feel like they have a big point to prove by deciding to spin a full set with vinyl. Of course it remains to be seen whether this set will encompass old house records of the pairs current big room offering, but it’s safe to safe that opting for the former in this case would not only likely be a better selection of music but would also show off that the duo are more than their big room sound. In either case, it’ll be interesting to see if  Like Mike’s signature MCing will be as prominent as it has been for the past while. This has garnered a lot of hate from followers of dance music as it can sometimes be a bit too much.

Nonetheless the decision to go vinyl only is controversial, and if it pays off this could be a massive victory for the Tomorrowland residents.
