Following on from the massive news yesterday that 2016 would be his last year of touring live, there is now some more Avicii news that will excite fans and hopefully shed some light on this surprising decision.

The BBC have announced that they’ve acquired the rights for an Avicii documentary entitled “Stories” which will follow Avicii from his humble beginnings postings songs online right through to the release of his monumental album “True” and the global success which soon followed. The movie will premiere next month in Cannes with Avicii himself attending.

Salim Mukaddam, Director of Music, BBC Worldwide said, “Avicii redefined the boundaries of contemporary dance music with his debut album. His hits have gone gold and platinum in 25 countries, but little is known about the man behind the music. This film promises to give fans and music lovers an insight into the unbelievable world of a superstar artist, from the highs of playing to packed stadiums around the world to the lows of illness and struggling to get back to the stage. We are very excited to see the finished project later this year.”

We’re more than excited to see this film, what do you think?
