Shapov is often refereed to as the Russian Maestro of electronic dance music. Since breaking away from full-time commitment with Hard Rock Sofa, he’s go on to be Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s well documented prodigy of sorts. With work on his collaboration with the two titans of EDM well under way and regular appearances at their concerts and on Axwell’s iconic Axtone label, it’s been a rapid rise to individual recognition for Shapov.

Having already featured on the 6th edition of Axtone Presents, he returns to masterfully curate the 18th edition. Following names such as Tom Staar, Kryder, Dirty South, and Axwell himself, his returns also signifies the respected following his has by fans and industry members alike. Cementing himself as a key member of Axtone’s roster, Shapov announced yesterday his featuring on the labels Tomorrowland stage later this year.

Featuring the likes of The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, and Royksopp in the opening 25 minutes of the hour long mix, Shapov wastes no time in showing fans the music that has inspired him and influenced his tastes. With many of his recent material being showcased in between other tracks, listeners start to connect the dots between what he listens to and what he produces. Going on to play The Temper Trap, Camelpha, Mark Ronson, and KSHMR, the final two tracks also imply something interesting. With the final two tracks being Hard Rock Sofa, you get the sense their set at Tomorrowland may just feature some material they’ve been working on in the quiet.
