Notaker, who was recruited for Monstercat’s latest release, is a relatively unknown newcomer to electronic music. The track, titled “Infinite”, combines spacey overtones sounded out by metallic, hollow atmosphere with a thumping, deep bassline and a simplistic melody into a punchy house offering. Being famous for discovering raw talents within the dance music scene and cut them into gemstones, Monstercat proved once again that they employ some of the best A&R within the industry.
Though it’s slightly different than something we’d usually hear from Monstercat’s releases, Notaker injects just enough energy into the piece to adapt it to a more popular set and as an appropriate opener for a any size of the stage. There’s enough peak time crunch and electro stamina here to keep even the more weathered territories happy, but at the heart of ‘Infinte’ is an original stronghold we wish we’d heard from far earlier in the game.
