Home Uncategorized Shazam predicts the top anthems for this summer season

Shazam has used big data analysis tools along with their own algorithms to determine the top ten tracks of this summer. Based on growth rate and Shazam chart positions, the music lover’s app has figured out what tunes are a must-add to your collection (but we’re guessing you’ve got most of these). Through the list you’ll find artists who’ve already proved themselves along with industry newcomers who’ve consistently shown promise.

A lot of the tracks through this list come with an array of dance music remixes (or are classified under the genre) which are definitely fueling the growth of the originals. Without further ado, here’s Shazam’s top 12 prediction for this Summer’s anthems.

1) Drake – One Dance

The ‘Hotline Bling’ star is back strong with One Dance, a catchy tune that climbed it’s way to the number one spot in Shazam’s U.S and U.K charts within a week of release. The track has been Shazamed a whopping 3.5 million times, now that’s traction.

2) Desiigner – Panda

Poised at number 7 on the worldwide chart, Shazam CEO Rich Riley guarantees this tune to continue to rise and be an anthem for the holiday season. With a plethora of trap and future bass remixes surrounding it, expect to hear it at every festival you visit.

3) Calvin Harris & Rihanna – This Is What You Came For

The sequel to “We Found Love” was destined to make it to this list. The track has managed to garner 43 million views within a month of release; expect to hear a lot of mash-ups and remixes in the coming weeks.

4) Kiiara – Gold

From the “low kii savage” EP, newcomer Kiiara’s Gold is an indie-esque groove score that’s smashed its way to the top of charts. Gold managed to gain massive success in the Australian market; CEO Riley expects the track to dish out similar results in the States.

5) The Strumbellas – Spirits

Folk infused sounds make the list as well with breakout band The Strumbellas. Spirits has gathered a massive 1 million Shazams since its air date!

6) gnash feat. olivia o’brien’s “I Hate U, I Love U”

For those who’re looking for something with a little more flavour, a little more unconventional; “i hate u, i love u” is the weapon of choice. The track is sitting comfortably at number 46 on the worldwide chart whilst showing a persistent growth in popularity.

7) Jason Derulo – If It Ain’t Love

Who doesn’t love Jason Derulo? The addictive score has been all over the radios recently and could well be this year’s summer anthem. Number 43 on the U.S Shazam chart.

8) Dua Lipa – Hotter Than Hell

The British talent has delivered strong with her powerful vocals on Hotter Than Hell. Still pushing through the noise, Rich Riley is confident of this deep house tune’s success.

9) Era Istrefi – Bonbon

A surprise Albanian talent makes it to the list with her Rihanna-esque tune, Bonbon. The tune draws influence from previous summer anthem, Lean On and has in turn been Shazamed 1.5 million times!

10) Keith Urban – Wasted Time

U.S pop culture icon Keith Urban delivers a proper summer sing-along tune, perfect for the beach or by the campfire. Riley confirms the tune as one of the biggest hits of 2016 (in the States).

11) The Chainsmokers ft. Daya – Don’t Let Me Go

Well it’s no surprise this made the list…

12) Justin Timberlake – Can’t Stop The Feeling

Last but not least, Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop The Feeling. An uptempo number that commands its listeners to “just dance”; the tune picked up over a 100,000 Shazams in just 24 hours of release.
