After an entire summer of teasing details, Empire of the Sun has finally announced their new album “Two Vines” – it will be released on October 28th via Astralwerks. This LP will be a follow up on their previous album “Ice on the Dune”. “Two Vines” will feature production by Pete Myers, and guest efforts by the likes of Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac, and former members from Prince and David Bowie Band.

The fact that this album was recorded in Hawaii and Los Angeles played a big part in shaping the tracks. As expressed by band member Luke Steele, “Going to Hawaii to record was the best idea, that was the catalyst for me. I’d spend the morning surfing, then roll in and make music into the night.”

“High and Low” is the lead single of “Two Vines” and will premiere in AAA radio advertisements starting August 29th. The track list features a remix of their 2008 hit “Walking on a Dream” which peaked at the #1 spot on the Billboard Dance chart.

Nick Littlemore (band member) on the album:

“There was an image we talked about very early on with this record, before we wrote the title track, ‘Two Vines,’ and that was this image of a modern city overtaken by jungle, almost like mother nature taking back the planet.”

“All the buildings will turn back to sand. All it will be is nature again. We wanted to make something that reflected the beauty of that, and the wisdom that plants can give us about living harmoniously on this beautiful planet.”
