Home Uncategorized Kygo is set to perform at the Olympic Games Closing Ceremony

Electronic dance music seems to continuously prove that is one of the most influential (if not THE most influential) genres in the world, especially in a year like 2016 with David Guetta being in charge of the production of this year’s UEFA European Football Championship. Norwegian prodigy and superstar Kygo is yet another DJ & producer to write history, after announcing that he will be performing at the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games in Rio.

The celebratory event will be held this Sunday, August 21st at the Olympic Stadium Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and will be broadcasted to billions of viewers around the world.

Whilst Tiesto was the first dance act to ever perform at the Opening of the Olympic Games back in 2014 in Athens, Greece, Kygo is the electric act to perform at the Closing Ceremony.

The Norwegian took the time to make the announcement himself, highlighting that this will probably be the biggest achievement of his life.

I have been fortunate to perform a lot of incredible places, but I have to say this will be the biggest performance of my career. Im excited to announce I will be performing in the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Tune in Sunday to check it out

Following the success of his debut artist album “Cloud Nine“, hundreds of millions of streams on Youtube and Soundcloud, and remarkable philanthropy work around the globe, Kygo is sure expected to rise to the very top in just a matter of months not just for his music, but his personality too.

Make sure you tune in on Sunday for yet another historic mark of the electronic genre.
