“If you’re really positive in life, everything else will come by itself.”

While in town for Chicago’s Lollapalooza, Dutch superstar Hardwell played at Rolling Stone Live’s sixth annual party during the weekend of the major festival. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, he reveals that he actually enjoys smaller shows as it tends to be more intimate. Compared to a larger crowd, at a music festival for instance, Hardwell stated that people’s emotions can be seen and felt better in smaller venues.

The two-time #1 DJ of the world then talks about some of his current productions in his studio; in particular, he discloses that he has worked with “some big names”. Unfortunately, Hardwell did not provide any further details regarding which artists he has collaborated with, but one prominent singer he has confirmed to have a single with is Craig David for their unreleased track “No Holding Back”.

Hardwell also discusses his dream collaboration, which he unveils to be Pharrell Williams. According to the Breda-native:

“I admire him in every single way, as a songwriter, as a singer, as a fashion designer, and his whole personality. For collaboration, I’m always on the lookout for guys who have that same energy, with a positive state of mind, and just, you know, make music. If you’re really positive in life, everything else will come by itself.”

Lastly, Hardwell talked about his extremely busy schedule. Flying from different cities each and every day across the globe and performing in front of different crowds night in and night out, his job is undoubtedly tiring and draining. However, he simply feels grateful for the position he is presently in and states:

“If it wasn’t for the love of music, I don’t think I’d be here right now – I’d be exhausted. My love for music will always keep me going.”
