With the summer festival season being over, it’s time to go back and reminisce about some of the most memorable music and experiences in the past few months. Without a doubt, first thing to come to mind is the stellar rework of the original theme of the iconic Snake game, which entertains youngsters and adults ever since the 80s. The remarkably catchy melody has spent countless hours in our minds as we tried to beat those high scores for days and could easily be classified as a classic 80s electronica.

Almost 3 decades later, the 2016 version of the historic theme has earned its spot in the live sets of a significant list of electronic music top dogs, such as Adam Beyer, Len Faki, Afrojack, Fatima Hajji, Martin Garrix, The Magician, Chris Lake, Knife Party, Tiesto, to name a few. However, who’s responsible for it remained a mystery for months, as thousands of fans demanded answers, while 65 000 plays accumulated on DOORN Record’s SoundCloud in just a few days.

We Rave You is proud to reveal the name of the 2 producers to be held accountable for the massive 2016 rework of the Snake: Sander Van Doorn & Fred Pellichero.

Pellichero released the original back in 2005, which got a unique reconstruction by Marco V for his Combi:nations II compilation. Just over a decade after, Sander’s team up with France’s own shows perfect affinity, a fruit of remarkable success of the tune among A-list names in genres from the whole electronic spectrum.

With over 20 years in the scene, Sander has proved to have a unique ability to continuously blend in harmony current and old school sounds, resulting in the perfect, evergreen dance anthem. Being very well known as a master of pitch bends & fat bass-lines (I mean, have you heard “Get Enough” for a start?), “The Snake 2016″ flawlessly showcases his influence in the complete structure of this techno-inspired gem. The hard-hitting riffs and dominating snare guarantee maximum impact on dance floors worldwide.

The rise of success of this stellar rework has just started, as it makes its way towards topping all charts on September 12th, via Sander Van Doorn’s own DOORN Records.

And as you eagerly await it’s release, join us on a trip down memory lane in the hopes of beating all high scores by playing once again the historic game The Snake:
