Hardwell & Nicky Romero’s ‘Beta’ turns 5 years old today

Take a trip down memory lane to 2011 when Hardwell & Nicky Romero were still newbies to the scene and delivered this mammoth of a tune. The Revealed and Protocol bosses, stunned the dance music world with Beta, their heavyweight collaboration. The score turned into an absolute anthem for ravers across the globe and was a DJ’s weapon of choice at any festival. Fast forward a few years and we saw Hardwell become the world’s number 1 DJ and Romero consistently headlined the biggest festivals around.

Beta gathered millions of streams across multiple media platforms and for very good reason. The tune delivered a solid punch, encompassing the best elements of the era’s progressive and electro house sounds. It’s rumbling bass line and full bodied synths dictated audiences in 2011, Beta will surely go down as one of the anthems that shaped EDM to what it is.
