When Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike dropped “Hey Baby”, the evidence of Diplo’s influence was startlingly apparent in hindsight.

Having been dethroned from the DJ Mag Top 100, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike has wasted no time n releasing another big collaboration. Hot of the back of their flurry of releases in the run up to the polls announcement, the highest ranking DJ/Producer duo have opted for a new sound to add to their portfolio.

Drawing from the curated tastes of Diplo himself, the studio atmosphere and chemistry would’ve have been a fascinating one to observe. Providing the summery mood as the depths of Autumn kick into top gear, “Hey Baby” is a nice excuse to escape the doom and gloom and relive some of the fonder memories from the previous season.

Teaming up with the vocals of Debs Daughter, the Belgian Big Room pioneers took a leaf from the American’s Major Lazer vibes. Providing a bass-orientated tropical sound, the vocal distortion acts as the progressive melody. Meeting with an array of signature Caribbean synth’s and rhythmic tenancies, the influence of Diplo is ever-present.
