Moby – The Remixes (Drumcode)

Renowned for their hard-hitting, pummelling sound, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode Records have to be one of the most popular techno labels in the world. The label, now in its twentieth year, has always been at the forefront of techno and are known for their top notch releases.

In a special remix package, a number of Drumcode artists have been invited to remix the electronic music legend Moby. The resulting release features a number of very special takes on some Moby classics such as Go, Porcelain and Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad. Stepping up to remix duties on Go are Bart Skils, Tiger Stripes and Manic Brothers. Bart Skils turns in a stomping techno remix that retains the melancholic feel of the original but keeps things fairly minimal, the two Tiger Stripes remixes are both entirely different from each other, with the “White Tail” mix a more uplifting version with airy synths throughout while the “Black Lodge” mix strips things back into a very minimal tech-house remix.  The Manic Brothers keep the dark vibe on their take on Go. Alan Fitzpatrick and Luca Agnelli both provide banging hard-hitting versions of Porcelain. Enrico Sangiuliano provides possibly the standout remix on the release with his pumping take on While Does My Heart Feel So Bad while Natural Blues gets the production treatments of Dense & Pika and Marco Farone.
