2016 has been the year of Lane 8. The American producer (real name Daniel Goldstein) has been behind some of the biggest club tracks of the year such as the utterly infectious Fingerprint, his sensational take on the deadmau5 classic Strobe as well as the uplifting melodic excellence of With Me. The producer even started his own clubbing concept and record label entitled This Never Happened, which is focusing on bringing clubbing culture back to its roots where people would just enjoy the moment instead of watching the music through their phones. This year has really seen him gain some well-deserved popularity with phenomenal sets and to finish the year off we’ve been treated to an early Christmas present in the form of his Winter Mix.

Lane 8’s seasonal mixes have always been special, but it’s only fitting that in the best year of his career he ends it with one of his best seasonal mixes yet. At just over two and a half hours long, it’s certainly one of his longest yet, and it’s no surprise to see it’s a real journey.

The mix traverses sounds ranging from progressive to tech and deep house, and it really shows off the American’s fantastic skills as both a selector, who’s able to put together a series of tracks that really tell a story, but also showing some of his own productions and remixes too. Some of the highlights include the Maceo Plex remix of Sailor & I’s Black Swan as well as the Dale Middleton remix of trance classic Cafe Del Mar. If you’re feeling a bit cold this Christmas, this is one gift that’ll surely warm you up.
