2016 has been quite a big year for dance music, with the popularity of the vast genre becoming more diverse and edging into more commercial settings. As a way to wrap up the incredulous year, 1001Tracklists have compiled a list of the top 100 producers of the year, according to the amount of DJ support each have received, making the list more accurate than most.

The list kicks off with a lot of familiar faces, as expected. Skrillex and Diplo, unsurprisingly at 1st and 4th place respectively, have had insane success, with both their individual solo projects as well as their joint collaborative effort Jack Ãœ. Next up come the Swedish powerhouse duo Axwell and Ingrosso, who are also come as no surprise, being former members of the Swedish House Mafia. Their singles ‘Barricade’ and ‘Dark River’, respectively, have earned them 2nd and 9th place. Their fellow Swede Eric Prydz comes in hot at 10th place, which given his production and musical mastery, does the man no justice. The list also includes Dutch legends Hardwell in 3rd place and Tiesto in 5th.

2016 has been a wonderful year for the infamous “Groove Cartel” boss Kryder, who has single-handedly managed to change the entire structure of the current dance music scene. His efforts and his well-earned, loyal fanbase have brought the UK producer straight to the 6th most supported producer in 2016. The remaining two slots in the top ten include future house pioneers Don Diablo and Oliver Heldens, who have both seen unparalleled success in their genre.

You can check out the complete top 100 rankings here on the 1001Tracklists website.
