Following the new year, 1001tracklists have released data regarding the number of times tracks were played in 2016 live sets. The list contains many highly regarded tracks which as expected were played regularly throughout the year, while also containing some surprises.

Topping the list with a play count of 197 during 2016, Promise Land‘s massive hit ‘X-Press‘ certainly dominated live sets throughout the year, clearly both a fan and artist favourite. CID charts at #2 with his house anthem ‘No!‘, which was played in sets a whopping 166 times during the year. Charting at #3, Oliver Heldens & Throttle‘s feel-good future house banger ‘Waiting‘ comes in at 159 plays.

Further down the list, Axwell makes an appearance at #4 with 158 plays on his explosive hit ‘Barricade‘, which was certainly dropped during a huge number of mainstage sets during 2016. At #5, Skrillex & MUST DIE! with their lethal collaboration ‘VIP’s‘, which hit a massive 154 plays through the year.

Although the list from 1001tracklists features the top 100 tracks, the list is much longer due to the number of ties for position. The list not only provides information on the tracks most regularly dropped in 2016, but also becomes an ideal playlist for looking back at the year and remembering some of the biggest hits produced.
