Over the past few years, The Chainsmokers have rapidly become two of the industry’s biggest superstars. The duo of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall has never shied away from expanding their horizons and recently, The Chainsmokers teamed up with Sony for a one-of-a-kind virtual reality experience called ‘Lost in Music’.

With festival season just around the corner, fans have been highly anticipating the day they finally step foot on the dance floor under the hot and bright sun once again. Through Sony’s innovative event series ‘Lost in Music’, the wait may be shortened as people can experience performances from some of the world’s most prominent artists.

The first event named “The Beginning” featured The Chainsmokers, as well as Lost Kings and Vanic. Participants were able to use the Playstation VR headsets inside a specially designed, snow-filled room. Once the attendees wore the headsets, the winter feel inside the room instantly switched to the summer vibes that would be suitable for any dance music event.

According to the Head of VR & Immersive Content Tim Dillon, “This theatrical experience for Sony and The Chainsmokers is a great combination of cutting edge VR, running in real-time for maximum ‘presence,’ with a hyper-real musical experience, all taking place in the real world.”

Along with this collaboration with The Chainsmokers, Sony looks to unveil more ‘Lost in Music’ events in the future, which may involve more household names within the electronic music circuit.
