As electronic music continues its break into 2017’s commercial spectrum, artists like Diplo, Skrillex, The Chainsmokers, Flume, and more, are making it easier for the scene’s rising talents to get their big break. Aside from the music itself, branding is of course one of the most crucial components to any producers success. It goes without saying that most of the leading entertainers have made their way into the marketing world by introducing additional outlets like clothing, accessories, and the ever-important, music videos.

Released yesterday on Mad Decent’s YouTube channel, Diplo & Autoerotique’s “Waist Time” has come to surface. Although simple, this 3 minute spectacle of high energy bass and beautiful women is something I’m sure most fans can get behind. With so many trends flowing in and out of the scene, hooping is one to not only be getting more popular with time, but it’s actually becoming more advanced. With LED lights and thing of that nature, only time will tell how far it can go. The video as a whole directs its attention to a group of festival hoopers who relocate themselves to a warehouse, and have an obviously goodtime. With a GoPro aesthetic following suit, this video isn’t the most remarkable thing we’ve seen from Diplo, but it’s clever and embraces a small piece of this ever-growing culture.
