Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) UK has been canceled after an official statement from event organizers Insomniac Events was released. A statement on the official EDC UK website, written by the founder of Insomniac, Pasquale Rotella, said the following:

“Thank you for your support of EDC UK. Our plans to grow and improve the festival at Milton Keynes have not developed as we had hoped, and we are not going to be able to stage EDC UK this July in a manner that meets all of our high expectations. As a result, we are indefinitely postponing the show until we can properly reimagine all areas of the experience. We apologize for the inconvenience we know this causes, and we thank you for your understanding.”

This piece of news has come as a shock to many British fans as Insomniac and EDC have had so many successful festivals and events organized all around the world, including countries with a smaller ‘EDM’ scene and yet have had such a great turnout.

EDC UK has been running since 2013, hosting the first event in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and relocated to Milton Keynes the year after, which was their home up until now. The event had hosted a huge collection of world class DJs including Madeon, Calvin Harris and Hardwell.

We wish it will make a return soon.
