Premiere: Lucas & Steve Feat. Jake Reese – Calling On You

Among the few Dutch talents who’ve been on the rise within the Dance music industry, even fewer have enjoyed as steady and stellar climb to the headlines as the Maastricht based duo of Lucas & Steve. Comprising of Lucas de Wert and Steven Jansen, the Dutch duo have dominated the House music charts world over with multiple hits such as ‘Love On My Mind,‘ ‘Summer On You‘ along with Sam Feldt & Wulf, and a remix for Lost Frequencies and Felix Jaehn‘s 2015 summer hit ‘Eagle Eyes‘. The duo were originally regulars on Housepital Records before signing for the revered Spinnin’ Records artists roster in 2014. What’s more is that they landed the coveted Beatport award by landing up in the Top 3 House producers list. Eyeing another shot at the charts, they’re back with a collaboration with fellow Dutchman and singer/songwriter Jake Reese for their single ‘Calling On You‘.

Kicking off with a funky twist-of-the-wrist kind of synth work, the track’s brilliance lies in the charming vocal work from Jake Reese, who has previously worked with Hardwell for two chart-topping singles – ‘Run Wild‘ from 2016 and the 2015 hit ‘Mad World‘. Accompanied by a bumbling build-up to the break, the groovy beat-work and the mellifluous chord progression is undoubtedly one that could come from nowhere other than Lucas & Steve’s production desk. Supported by the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiësto, Oliver Heldens, Don Diablo, Sam Feldt, Robin Schulz, The Chainsmokers, Nicky Romero among others, there seems to be no reason why the track wouldn’t infect the festivals with its energy. With such a chirpy beginning to 2017 courtesy of the Dutch, it would be safe to say that this We Rave You exclusive premiere is one of the first hits of the year.
