Calvin Harris is arguably the biggest name in dance music, having collaborated with some of the most esteemed artists in the industry including Rihanna, Ellie Goulding and Tinie Tempah. Consistently surrounded by eager anticipation of his next actions, this week reaped great news for two sets of music fans. This time, the Scottish megastar teamed up with Frank Ocean and Migos to deliver his latest single “Slide”. Recently, through a series of tweets, the Scottish producer discussed the new track openly, detailing his views on the need for more ‘joyful music in 2017’.
Showcasing less of his staple house music signatures, the track is more down-tempo, isolating Ocean’s sensitive vocal layer. Flittered with a fun, tropical touch from the outset, this track will no doubt be dominating our radio air waves over the coming months. The infectious bass line brings a new level of funk, guaranteed to make you want to get up and dance. Following the release of “My Way’ back in September, Calvin announced that he had no plans to release an album any time soon, and instead will be sharing a steady stream of singles for us to enjoy. And if this track is anything to go by, we are in for a treat.
