Moby has been one of the most influential and popular electronic music acts over the past twenty years. A true pioneer who helped bring mainstream success to the genre, his records have been heavily praised by many from all corners of dance music. Enlisting a number of artists from A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold to remix some of his most classic songs, the resulting Black Lacquer EP has finally been released to our enjoyment.
Featuring remixes of greats such as Go and Porcelain, the EP traverses through styles such as piano house and trap. The Treasure Fingers remix of Go opens up proceedings and features those oh-so classic strings mixed up with a nice house rhythm and some lovely piano work to make this a real club hit. Madeaux turns out a very unique remix of Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad which combines elements of trap and electro with some hard-hitting electric guitar sounds running throughout to turn this into a real booming tune. The High Klassified remix of Natural Blues takes things down a notch and takes a more chilled, deeper house approach to the original, while the Nick Catchdubs mix of Porcelain continues this vibe.
