The American EDM DJ duo, Jack Ü, comprised of Diplo and Skrillex, has been on a hiatus since their last release. The dynamic group brought us bangers such as “Take Ü There,” and “Where Are Ü Now” and their achievement is most definitely not a secret, with over 9.6 million Shazams, the superduo has earned a special place in their fans’ hearts.

Diplo has recently spoken out about there being a lack of new material from Jack Ü in a Q&A session with Nina Las Vegas in Syndey, Australia. This session acts as a promotion for Heaps Decent, an  a workshop/music program that nurtures underprivileged Australian youths founded by Diplo, Las Vegas and DJ Levins.

Diplo claimed:

“Right now I’m just doing a lot of new Major Lazer stuff and Diplo stuff. The thing with Jack Ü is complicated, because of Atlantic. Skrillex is signed to that label and it’s difficult to do anything with that. I hate major labels, so I don’t really want to do anything with major labels. So it’s hard.”

Diplo also told us the secret to his success:

“When I realised I had the opportunity to make music, I didn’t waste any time. I was like, well this is better than going to my day job as a school teacher,” he said. “I feel like I’m lucky to be a musician. If I have an opportunity I never want to waste a second. Even here in Australia, every second I’ve been here, I’ve just been shooting videos and going to studios and doing whatever I can. It’s not a vacation for me or anything”
