Based in Stockholm, the story of how Robert Algren & Jacob Stiernspetz (aka. Rob & Jack) first teamed up is not your conventional tale. The duo, both with a huge love for melodies and progressive house, met outside a Deadmau5 concert in Stockholm back in 2010 – and have been producing electro bangers ever since! Now, they return, with new track El Chupacabra – a production given a spicy rework by fellow Swedes BROHUG, a trio made up of John Dahlbäck and Lunde Bros.
With the trap masters of BROHUG at the helm you can be sure this track is going to be filthy in all the right ways, and instantly the production teases with a dark bass-heavy shot during the track’s introduction, leading into an enchanting almost Arabic-like melody that has a KSHMR-esque feel about it.
Soon, this melody gives way to a dirty build-up and bass-infused drop that will have festival crowds bouncing this summer. This highly polished production from Rob & Jack manages to incorporate a Mediterranean feel to the core of the melody, whilst perfectly fusing with BROHUG’s signature almost vintage dubstep sound. It is no wonder Swedish giant Sebastian Ingrosso has signed the track to his REFUNE label.
