As the build up for their hotly anticipated debut album continues, The Chainsmokers surprised fans once again by dropping a brand new track from ‘Memories…Do Not Open‘, this time entitled ‘The One‘. Following in the footsteps of ‘Paris’ and ‘Closer’, the track features Drew Taggart’s simple but effective vocals, as well as an unknown female vocalist. Renowned for their catchy lyrics, this latest offering is no different, and although not likely to be setting mainstages alight, it is almost guaranteed to be flooding the radio airwaves over the coming weeks and months.
Moving away from their signature future bass sound, and certainly not your typical dance track by any means, ‘The One‘ is more acoustic and atmospheric in nature, and offers a breath of fresh air in today’s era of hard-hitting bass lines and heavy kicks. Fans of The Chainsmokers will no doubt be adding this to their playlist, as excitement builds for April’s album release. The duo have already revealed the official tracklisting for “Memories… Do Not Open” to their fans. Featuring collaborations with Emily Warren, Louane, Jhene Aiko, Florida-Georgia Line, the album is sure to be far more pop-leaning than typical the typical EDM output.
