Long-awaited since the release of ‘A State Of Trance 2016’ in May last year, the fourteenth edition of Armin van Buuren’s award-winning mix compilation series has finally arrived! The series started in 2004 and has seen an album released in each year since, never failing to disappoint the trance faithful. ‘A State Of Trance 2017’, which saw its release today after four weeks of pre-order, is filled with exclusive records and tremendous tracks, boasting the finest music that the art of trance has to offer.

As always, the album features two CD’s (‘On The Beach’ and ‘In The Club’) and comprises thirty-eight tracks from artists such as Andrew Rayel, Gareth Emery, MaRLo, Omnia, Ørjan Nilsen and Super8 & Tab. ‘A State Of Trance 2017’ also includes two special productions from Armin van Buuren: ‘This Is a Test’ and ‘The Train’.

The first CD is titled ‘On The Beach’, and rightly so. Jam-packed with uplifting vibes, reverb-soaked synths, gorgeous vocals, the first disc possesses a more buoyant vibe in comparison to the 2016 edition. Pulsating basslines and big lead synths will generate raw emotion and an infatuating atmosphere will leave listeners feeling euphoric. However, don’t think this disc has a shortage of excellent breaks. The ever-effective combination of female vocals and a soft piano continues to impress, creating an excellent transition in tracks between cool & calm, and rave, while still maintaining the uplifting, enchanting aura that is intertwined amongst the 19 track ‘On The Beach’ CD. The second CD, titled ‘In The Club’ also possesses a fitting name. Undulating kicks and basses will hit fans like a wrecking ball. With the second CD’s ‘hands in the air’ feel, it is bound to do its fair share of rounds at Armin’s new Hï Ibiza residency, leaving fans in A State Of Trance.
