Avicii hints at comeback in 2017

On the anniversary of his retirement from touring, 2-time Grammy nominee Avicii has sent social media into an emphatic frenzy! Recently posting this cryptic update on his website, fans have had their fingers crossed, hoping that this could be the moment he announces his return, but nothing is what it seems.

Subsequently, this big announcement could signify another milestone in the Swedish DJ/Producer’s illustrious career. Late last year, Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, announced that he would be releasing a new album in 2017. After taking a more organic approach to his music in his 2015 album “Stories”, it appears Bergling will be following the same path in his 2017 album. Keeping details to a minimum, he’s since been showing snip-its and teasers on his Facebook and Twitter.

Avicii, who is famous for producing big festival anthems such as “Seek Bromance“, “Levels“, “Hey Brother” and “Wake Me Up“, released his first studio album in 2013, which was titled “True“, was nominated for Top Dance/Electronic Album at the Billboard Music Awards in both 2014 and 2015. He followed up with a second studio album in 2015, titled “Stories“. Although not nearly as successful as its predecessor, it reached the top 10 in the charts in 17 countries and received Gold certification by selling over 10,000 copies in Poland.

Although Bergling hasn’t released many new tracks as of late, in early 2016 he composed a track with Australian Singer/Songwriter Conrad Sewell, as part of a Coca-Cola ad. Stream it below!
