The Chainsmokers nominated for an incredible 22 Billboard Music Awards

Home Uncategorized The Chainsmokers nominated for an incredible 22 Billboard Music Awards

With the annual Billboard Music Awards right around the corner, the hotly anticipated nominations were released yesterday, and there were quite a few surprises. Whilst some now consider them an indie-pop act rather than falling under the ‘EDM’ category, The Chainsmokers are the dominant name throughout the list of the nominees. Along with Drake, they received an incredible 22 nominations, including Top Artist, Top Streaming Song and Top Hot 100 Artist. Notably, they even feature twice in the Top Hot 100 Song and Top Collaboration categories with “Don’t Let Me Down” and “Closer”.

Having been dominating the radio airwaves with their recent string of releases, it is no surprise that the duo feature so prominently on the list. And with the recent release of their debut album “Memories…Do Not Open”, they are showing no signs of slowing down. Although they may be moving away from their dance music roots, it is inspiring to see the pair step out the comfort zone and push the boundaries of their production skills and yield such incredible results.

The Billboard Music Awards will take place on May 21, and will air live on the night from 8PM on ABC in the U.S. Check out the full list of nominees here.
