Deadmau5 sold one of his favourite cars to fund building Cube 2.1, the high tech DJ booth/projection screen he uses during his “Lots of Shows in a Row Tour.” Showcasing the beautiful and technically advanced apparatus in a stunning photo spread, the Canadian demonstrated that he truly spared no expense.

A staggering 18 feet high, the cube dominates the stage, and deadmau5 can control all the visuals, lights and music from a massive touchscreen embedded into the deck. The Mau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, is as much a genius at engineering the complicated tech as he is producing music. No wonder, then, he was chosen by MasterClass recently to teach an online class on the technical aspects of the art of electronic music production.

Deadmau5’s new tour kicked off in New York, and he will work his way around the US before making appearances in Europe. Eric Prydz will be joining him for special B2B live shows, including a residency at Hï Ibiza, which replaced the iconic Space, and a performance at Creamfields in the UK. His North American tour concludes soon with multiple dates in Oakland, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
