Between 9th and 11th June, any fan of electronic dance music’s many genres will want to be at Spring Awakening Music Festival in Chicago at Addams-Medill Park. Promotion company React Presents secured an unmissable lineup for this year’s installment, boasting two main stages and an impressive six branded stages. The Solstice mainstage will host Alesso, Diplo, Marshmello, and DJ Mag Top 100 winner Martin Garrix. The Equinox mainstage will host a diverse blend of artists across genres, from Galantis, to Griz, and rising stars Louis the Child. The Ajunadeep stage is dedicated to trance artists, including fan favourite Lane 8, while the Dancing Astronaut branded stage will see the legendary Benny Benassi hit the deck.
Spring Awakening started in 2012 at Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears, but now resides at Addams-Medill Park which has prime views of the city’s breathtaking downtown skyline. 50,000 fans descend upon the festival grounds every summer, entering Chicago’s only festival dedicated solely to the EDM genre. Although other globally-known festivals such as Lollapalooza attract top tier EDM artists, SAMF is the Midwest’s premier electronic three day weekend. Tickets are on sale now on the SAMF website, both as single-day entry passes, and three day GA and VIP passes. If attending as an artist is more your style, you can enter a remix competition of Zhu‘s “Nightcrawler” to win a performance slot.
