On the scene for nearly three decades, EDM’s trailblazer Tiësto seems to know a thing or two on how to stay relevant in music’s ever-changing scene. With a global following that increases daily, achieving success and staying in the limelight is a feat not many have, or can, master. Filed beside iconic producers like Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Eric Prydz and more, these tastemakers aren’t just enduring the transitions, they’re continuously pushing the craft to new, exciting dimensions.
Aside from Tiësto’s start in Trance, the now 48 year old is taking a contemporary approach to EDM’s Trap scene. His newest single with Los Angeles duo Sevenn completely strays from anything we’ve heard from him in the past, and exhibits true production skills from both parties. The track, “Boom Boom Boom” is a deep house track, rooted in heavy bass with an impressive percussion arrangement behind. It was previewed on Tiësto’s Twitter page earlier this week, and since has generated quite a following.
After closing out this years Ultra Music Festival with one of the best sets of the weekend, the artist’s musical range is obviously expanding. “Boom Boom Boom” is a perfect depiction of this and now, we all just have to wait patiently for its official release. Take a listen to the Tiësto preview below and let us know what you think in the comments.
