Considered by many as the biggest name in dance music, Dutch legend Tiësto has long been admired as the man at the forefront of electronic dance music’s rise in popularity. Now returning with new track ‘BOOM’, the Musical Freedom label owner brings a heavy bass feel to the production, teaming up with Sevenn.

Made up of Los Angeles based producers, Sean & Kevin Brauer, Sevenn are the electro duo who recently made an appearance with the ‘Adagio For Strings’ DJ during his live set at Ultra Music Festival, as the trio premiered the track to the Miami crowd. With a menacing intro that sounds dark and ominous, ‘BOOM’ soon gives way to an increased tempo, before the catchy vocal chorus preludes the heavy drop which really goes off with a bang.

The interjecting bassy beats of the main hook are typical of the new Tiësto sound, which appears to be a cross between a ‘Dirty Dutch’ big-room style, and a more trending ‘future bass’ sound, which is proving increasingly popular with crowds across the globe, particularly in the United States. Though many have criticised the Breda producer for his move away from his traditional signature trance sound in recent years, ‘BOOM’ is a perfect encapsulation of the varied skills Tiësto possesses, in being able to lend his talents to any genre, and pull it off perfectly.
