There are few people who can capture a crowd quite like A-Trak can. The talented producer and DJ illustrated that on Thursday night at Washington, D.C.’s Soundcheck for a riveting performance. Blending genres, styles, and vibes, the Canadian had fans constantly on their toes with an incredible track selection, proving that he should always be considered as one of the top acts in the electronic music industry.

After opening nearly two years ago, Soundcheck has cemented itself as one of the top venues on the East Coast for its incredible production and intimate vibes. Bringing in artists like Tiesto, Green Velvet, Ferry Corsten, and Snails, the club caters to all audiences with its different musically themed nights. With A-Trak on the decks, attendees knew that they could be in for a show blending all of these genres into one.

After opening with some deep house grooves, A-Trak quickly brought the tempo up piecing together some of his heavy rap influences. His rap records flowed perfectly into his incredible scratching routines proving his #realdjing talent. The multiple time World Champion DJ is a true talent and few can compete with him on the decks.

While rap, trap, and bounce music were the real focus of the night, A-Trak’s ability to seamlessly shift from genre to genre was incredible. Mixing in Michael Jackson, Missy Elliot, Snoop Dogg, DMX, and others were mind-blowing to hear over Soundcheck’s incredible sound system. Some other highlights included his incredible ‘Anywhere’ remix for Dillon Francis, his classic edit of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s ‘Heads Will Roll,’ and a moving rendition of Tchami’s ‘Adieu,’ which can be seen below:

With the festival season just around the corner, A-Trak will be making his rounds at Electric Forest, Electric Love Festival, Lollapalooza, Hard Summer, among others. If you have the chance to see him at one of these festivals, or better yet, an intimate club show, his set is not one that should be skipped. The man puts on a clinic in #realdjing.
