Prior to the release of each track which will feature on his upcoming compilation album ‘Funk Wav Bounce, Vol 1‘, Calvin Harris has posted a teaser on his social media, and for good reason. Fans are getting more and more hyped with each one. Following a string of successful new releases, Harris seems to be experimenting with a new sound with tracks such as ‘Slide‘ with Frank Ocean and Migos, and ‘Heatstroke‘ with Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande and Young Thug.
Funk Wav Bounce, Vol 1, which was announced by Harris that the compilation album is due for release on June 30, will feature a star-studded support cast. The album possesses collaborations with artists such as Rihanna, Future, Katy Perry, Big Sean, John Legend, and Snoop Dogg just to name a few.
The interesting part about this album is the way Sony has categorized it. In an article published by Music Business Worldwide, it is explained that after each quarter, the music label giant presents a list of best-selling albums to its shareholders, based on revenue generation in the period. However, this is no longer the case. Due to the large success of Calvin’s latest string of singles, Sony has decided to rename the list to ‘recorded music releases’ rather than albums. Hence the reason Harris’ new album is categorized as a ‘collection of tracks’.
In the meantime, while fans wait for the ‘collection of tracks’ preview the teaser for Calvin Harris’ newest track below!
