In a strange turn of events, French producer, DJ Snake, has taken the somewhat bold decision to delete his Twitter and Instagram accounts, and has cancelled his scheduled performance at Hangout Festival in Alabama.

The news comes during a troubled spell for the ‘Encore’ artist, with news breaking just weeks ago that both he and Lil Jon are being sued for copyright by rapper Freddie Gz on their huge hit, ‘Turn Down for What.’ The Paris-born artist (real name William Sami Etienne Grigahcine) has enjoyed stellar success in recent years, collaborating with Diplo‘s main project Major Lazer on ‘Lean On’, and recently teaming up Justin Bieber for ‘Let Me Love You.’

DJ Snake’s decision is seen as a peculiar one, given his huge increase in popularity in recent times; a surge that saw him take the main headlining slot on Ultra Music Festival‘s main stage in Miami. There are currently numerous rumours circulating on the internet as to why the French phenomenon, who is close friends with fellow Parisian DJ Tchami, has taken this step. Many sources suggest the action is linked to the copyright lawsuit, but we await an official statement at this stage.

However, we will of course, bring you more news as and when we have it.
