On May 9, Roberto Concina, or mostly known as Robert Miles, passed away at the age of 47 due to stage four metastatic cancer. The entire dance music community suffered a huge loss, as Miles’ contribution to this business was enormous. The legendary producer helped in shaping modern trance and progressive house with his distinctive melodies and instrumentals, paving the way for newer talents upon entering the ‘00s.

Following his death, a trance forum named Trance Classics on Facebook started a campaign to send Miles’ most successful single titled “Children” to the number one spot of Beatport’s chart. The campaign, thus far, has helped the track reach the peak of Beatport’s Trance chart, while claiming as high as the ninth spot of the main chart. Proving its impact within the industry, the campaign has also led to major companies such as Cream Ibiza and Ministry of Sound to join.

Many artists from various grounds of electronic music, including the likes of Armin van Buuren and Tale of Us, have sent out their condolences to Miles’ passing. Paying tribute to the Italian game-changer, DJ’s have also included “Children” to their sets and radio shows, namely Above & Beyond for the 231st episode of Group Therapy Radio.

You can show your support for Miles’ “Children” on Beatport here and you can join the campaign on Trance Classics’ Facebook page here.
