The Weeknd and Daft Punk have rocketed into the 1 billion views club on YouTube with the addictive Starboy. Released on the 22nd of September, the massive collaboration went on to bag numerous awards and achieve platinum status in the process. It was released as the first single off the album of the same name and its music video played a large role in the track’s success.

Arguably one of the biggest (if not the biggest) tracks of 2016, The Weeknd and Starboy’s momentum has seeped through into 2017, hitting impressive milestones such as this one. The track is the 58th video on YouTube which has over a billion plays. This isn’t his only track to cross that landmark, Abel’s 2015 single ‘The Hills‘ is comfortably sitting at number 54 with 1.061 billion streams.
