Area 21 – We Did It

Those who tuned into Martin Garrix‘s headlining Ultra Music Festival Miami set last year, would’ve heard ‘We Did It” by Area 21, Garrix’s alter-alias. However, at the time, that was still unknown. Today, fans can rejoice after Garrix officially announced the track’s release on his label STMPD RCRDS, which is distributed by Sony Music.

The identity of the rapper in ‘We Did it’ had been up for speculation for some time, however, it was confirmed to be Detroit singer/songwriter/producer Maejor. This isn’t the first track Garrix & Maejor have produced under their Area 21 alias. Their song ‘Spaceships‘ peaked on the Spotify Viral 50 chart at number 3.

The track is driven by its melodic vocal chops and tranquil melody, along with cohesive vocals. The song is well produced and is quite clean, however, it still displeases some of Martin’s older fans, who still enjoy his Big Room music.

Irrespective of the negativity fans may convey, Martin continues to produce hugely successful Future Bass tracks. ‘In The Name Of Love‘ with Bebe Rexha received 12 Platinum certifications across the globe, while ‘Scared To Be Lonely‘ with Dua Lipa got 7 Platinum certifications across the globe.
