The Chainsmokers’ hit “Closer” achieves diamond status

Having enjoyed a simply staggering 2016, The Chainsmokers show no sign of slowing down. Just months after the release of their studio album “Memories… Do Not Open”, the DJ and producer duo have now hit the headlines once again, with signature track ‘Closer’ achieving Diamond status in Canada.

The Chainsmokers, who were performing to a sold-out crowd at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, picked up their plaques adorned with a staggering amount of certifications from what they’ve accomplished in the last year or so. And whilst the singalong anthem with vocalist Halsey has gone diamond, it might not be the only one to do so for the pair, with “Don’t Let Me Down” ft. Daya currently sat on 8x Platinum status,  and “Roses” ft. ROZES not far behind, on 5x Platinum.

In going diamond, “Closer” joins “One Dance” and “Rolling In The Deep” by Drake and Adele respectively as the only singles to achieve Diamond certification in Canada.
