Future house pioneer Oliver Heldens is back with a bang on his own imprint Heldeep Records. With his weekly residency at  Ibiza kicking off shortly, the Dutch producer gets in the spirit of things with his latest release ‘Ibiza 77 (Can You Feel It)’. The single follows in the footsteps of his brand new mixtape series also named ‘Ibiza 77’, with the first episode premiered last month.

According to Oli, the reasoning behind the ’77’ part is that he feels dance music took off in 1977 and wanted to pay homage to its birth. And whilst the mixtape series will hopefully allow for the new wave of electronic music fans to be introduced to older music that they may have not been otherwise exposed to, the single gives fans a taster of what to expect from Heldens over the coming months, as he admits that this style of music has been the source of his inspiration in the studio as of late.

The track itself infuses tribal and techno influences with a looped vocal that adds an atmospheric touch, with the groovy drop packing a serious punch. It’s a track that does away with excessive theatrics, with Heldens instead using his immense production skills to hone these few elements to succinct prowess. It’s a chunky, rugged track with a killer vocal that blends euphoria with a pleasingly tough edge, resulting in another soulful and funky dance floor weapon courtesy of Oliver Heldens.
