Bacardi and Major Lazer Team Up For Limited Edition Rum

Following Swedish duo Dada Life‘s partnership with Brut Reserve to present the world with their own Champagne, American Moombahton trio Major Lazer have announced a partnership of their own with spirits company Bacardi to create their own brand of Limited Edition Rum. Originally known for its eponymous Bacardi white rum, the family-owned company now has a portfolio of more than 200 brands and labels.

The Limited Edition Rum is described to be a blend of light and dark rums that have been aged tropically for over a 4 year period. The rum was hand-crafted by both parties involved to give it “the island vibe, the Carribean connection”. With Jillionaire hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, and Walshy Fire originating from Jamaica, it was inevitable that the trio’s sound would become heavily influenced by the Carribean, hence the inevitable collaboration between both parties.

This isn’t the only recent collaboration the trio have recently participated in. Their new EP ‘Know No Better‘ featured collaborations with artists such as Travis Scott, Sean Paul, Quavo and many more. However, despite the impressive support cast, the EP still received rather negative feedback, with critics claiming it sounded too similar and wasn’t experimental enough.
