Following the horrific tragedy that occurred last weekend, when a woman was killed and multiple people were injured at a white supremacy rally in Charlottesville, countless artists in the dance music community have taken to social media to speak their minds. From Bassnectar to The Chainsmokers to Steve Aoki, artists have emphasized the importance of unity and togetherness in the wake of the aftermath. One producer in particular, Maceo Plex, has taken it a step further than just denouncing the hatred, by attempting to organize a benefit concert in Charlottesville.

Plex took to Twitter to propose the idea of a “free party” for fans to come together, in an effort to display the strength of the dance music community. The event could potentially raise a lot of money for those affected in the attack, and would be an incredible thing to do, bringing thousands of fans together in the Charlottesville area.

Maceo Plex is still searching for viable people in the Virginia area to assist him in putting the event together, so stay tuned for more information in the coming days regarding the details of the event if it does in fact come to fruition.
