Reading Festival is one of the UK’s most famous festivals having started way back in 1955. Over the years, it became notorious for hosting some of the world’s best rock bands including the likes of Nirvana, Oasis and Linkin Park. However, since around 2010, organisers Festival Republic have curated more diverse lineups as they have introduced more live electronic artists & DJs as well as hip hop & grime artists, which has made the festival be appealing to everyone, particularly the younger generation. For example, the dance stage was upgraded to a 3 day stage in 2013 and was headlined by Knife Party, Magnetic Man and Sub Focus.

For this years festival (2017), Reading have gone all out on trying to get the best bookings possible. The main stage headliners include the legendary rapper Eminem, English rock band Kasabian and grammy winners Muse. Supporting Eminem on the main stage right before his set are Diplo’s Major Lazer who are bound to get the crowd hyped up and ready for the headliner. Further down the bill the innovative Flume will be headlining the NME/Radio 1 stage with acts such as Wiley, Mura Masa and Sub Focus set to play on the same stage.

Headlining the dance stage are Fatboyslim, Marshmello and Andy C, three huge DJs who are on top of their game in their own music scenes. The hilarious Dillon Francis will make his 3rd return to the dance stage and Noisia will be performing their very special ‘Outer Edges’ show.

Reading Festival have sold out of all their weekend tickets as well as their saturday tickets (the day Eminem and Major Lazer are performing) however Friday and Sunday tickets are still available. Reading Festival have a partner festival called Leeds Festival which is run over the same weekend with the same lineup but on different days. As Leeds Festival still has more tickets available, you may want to consider that option too!

The festival will take place on the last weekend of August (25th – 27th). Head over to their website for more information.
